SUMMARY:Thread of Love -- Youth Christmas Gift Event
DESCRIPTION:Building Bonds hosted its very first community activity on December 19\, 2025\, from 3:00–6:00 PM\, generously sponsored by ChengDe Education.\nThe event brought together 10 families and 16 children for an afternoon focused on strengthening parent–youth relationships through creativity\, reflection\, and connection. \nActivity Highlights:\nShared Art Reflection: Children participated in a passing art booklet activity\, where they drew their parents and reflected on:\nThe happiest moments with their parents\nThe most challenging moments—and why\nThis allowed youth to express thoughts and emotions that are often hard to say out loud. \nCreative Giving: Children learned how to crochet Christmas tree hangers\, which they made as gifts for their parents. Each handmade gift included a personal message sharing what they wanted their parents to know—turning creativity into meaningful communication. \nYouth Relationship Survey: We conducted a child-friendly survey to better understand parent–youth relationships\, focusing on key areas such as:\nEmotional warmth and affection\nCommunication and listening\nTrust and sense of security\nSupport for independence\nFamily rules and conflict resolution\nParental involvement in daily life \nThis first event marked an important step in our mission to create safe\, meaningful opportunities for youth and parents to reconnect\, understand one another\, and build stronger bonds—starting at home. \n
